'Index is locked' error - any chances to fix the project?

    I started to get the following error (e.g. after a new class is created and TWS is trying to open it in editor automatically):

    [attachment=52:Index locked.jpg]

    And also now when I was trying to pull the latest changes from salesforce, I'm getting another error:

    [attachment=53:Salesforce pull failed.jpg]

    It looks like both errors are related (or could be) and the issue is caused by the WTS crash (which in fact had happened to me). Now I'm wondering what my chances are to have the index unlocked, and how to fix the project to continue my work.

      Hi Oleksiy,

      As a workaround for now you can try disabling Local History (from the Tools -> Version Control -> Local History) and opening your project after this. If this will help it looks like you'll have to remove Local History folder for this project (in case if you want this functionality to work for other projects and for this project in the future).

      Please let me know if this helps.

      Thanks,

      Vladimir

        Hi Oleksiy,

        Can you please describe what happened before TWS crashed? We'd like to investigate this as well.

        Thanks,

        Vladimir

          Disabling local history fixed the first error issue, but I am still getting the second  - it's telling me that the apex class currently present in salesforce and locally has to be deleted locally.

            Hi Oleksiy,

            Thank you for your answer related the disabling the Local History.

            I kindly ask you to describe your actions related to the apex class step by step.

            Currently our team cannot reproduce this issue.

            Thank you,

            Kate

              Hi Kate,

              I'm just doing a simple pull from SF sandbox. I'm currently coping the code I did in TWS into Mavens Mate (Sublime Text) and compiling into SF from there. The issue itself might be related to the TWS crash, but it wasn't app related - Windows on my work laptop sometimes not able to start properly from the sleep mode, so I did forced reboot while TWS and other application were running.

              I'm thinking to migrate the code into SF, and start a new project in TWS to stay error free. You guys have mentioned yesterday it's going to be a new release today - can you let me know when I'd be able to download the latest version, as I'm also experiencing performance issues - is it going to be fixed in this release?

                Hi Oleksiy,

                Thank you for your suggestion.

                We will pay attention to the case you've described.

                Please inform us if the issue is reproduced on the newly created project.

                The new released version is already available. Your TWS

                The performance issue in the IDE isn't fixed there. Our team is working on it currently.

                I will let you know when this issue is solved in the topic you mentioned.

                Regards,

                Kate

                  Yes, I installed the latest release yesterday. No issues so far for the newly created project. And the performance issue is gone!
