Occasionally will find my code has overwritten others code without asking me first to merge. Today it happened around the time i had to restart welkins due to code coverage not coloring correct lines. Restarting welkins fixed code coverage...

As a to the side is it better to use force pull? Not sure what this option does as of yet.

note sure if anything has been found on this? Still occuring for me. I will do a fresh pull right before i build and will overwrite other developers code.

        Hi Colton,

Thank you for contacting us on this issue.

May I please clarify with you some additional details so that we could detect a reason for such behavior?

        Here are my questions:

        1. Can you please let me know what metadata types are you working on when the IDE overwrite files on your organization? In other words, in which files does the IDE overwrite changes without asking to merge?
        2. Do you use the 'Deploy' or 'Force Deploy' command to update your files with changes from the IDE?

As for the Deploy/Force Deploy and Pull/Force Pull functionality and differences between these options, you can find all the information here.

Looking forward to your response and we would be glad to solve this as soon as possible.

        Thank you,

        Kate

          Hi Kate,

          1. Thank you for responding. In each case I am working on an apex class
          2. I use "command + k" , not sure if this is issue as i have always done it this way.
            1. Thanks for the link!

I am going to re-install welkins to hopefully address. If you will look at past tickets submitted i have had to reinstall for each bug that appeared. Is their a reason for the reinstalls being needed?

IDE overwritting changes is slowing down others work, as well having to reinstall welkins and create fresh projects to trouble shoot is slowing down work.

Hoping there is a fix for this and a way around resintalling welkins each time bug appears.Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

              Hi Colton,

              Thank you for your response!

We are working on this and the investigation process is in progress.

We will contact you as soon as would have any result, and probably will ask for some additional information.

Also, may I please ask you to check if the issue is reproduced when you use the Deploy command from the Deploy menu instead of the hotkey.

              Best Regards,

              Kate
