TWS crashes whenever I try to manually dock (via click and drag into a dockable region) any window. Sometimes after crashing the application will immediately restart. I am able to use the WINDOW > Dock menu option to at least get windows to dock in the bottom region.

I have reinstalled, but no change. Also a bit strange is the last time I opened TWS, my customizations (ex. layout of which windows are open and where they are docked) were gone.

Please let me know any guidance or if there is a way to rollback to a previous version. Thanks!

Looks like this issue originated with a recent Windows 10 update. TWS is built on Visual Studio, so it bombed out along with a lot of other applications. To resolve: Update Windows 10 if you haven't already or try rolling back the Windows updates highlighted in the article below.

          [from article]

          ---

The bug is also hitting Visual Studio, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), and other products. On Feedback Hub, one user reported that they’re unable to use Visual Studio 2019 after applying Windows 10 KB4598299.

“In Visual Studio 2019, I performed the traditional window drag to relocate the Properties Window to be docked with the Solutions window [and] Visual Studio crashed. Uninstalling KB4598299 on both computers fixed the problem,” one user noted in a post on Feedback Hub.

I have reinstalled whole my system and still getting same issue. I can't uninstall KB4598299 Windows Update and I can't use WelkinSuite. Please fix it.

Hey @Tadeusz, can you check if you have installed Windows 10 update KB4601556? This was released to fix the issue of Visual Studio crashing when docking windows. It worked for me. I haven't had any new issues with the new Welkin Suite release.

@swapnil.patil same thing, do you have update KB4601556?

Your Windows 10 is out of date. Try to update and check that it installed KB4601556. If you can't update for some reason, you can look at this article and try to remove a previous Windows 10 update that caused the issue:

Welkin....you REALLY need to wheigh in on this ASAP.    The comments below indicate 'install xxx' and 'uninstall xxx'.

We all know that you did not cause this....but there are a large number of developers who cannot proceed at this time.   Not only is Welkin Suite crashing, but it is also no longer reporting errors correctly.    All error reports show --line 2---

I can confirm that installing the standalone KB patch (http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=4601556) fixed the issue with my freshly re-installed Welkin Suite on Windows 10 x64 machine as others mentioned.
The error lines not being reported correctly is being talked about in another thread (https://forum.welkinsuite.com/bug-reports/apex-compile-errors-dont-show-line-number/) that has nothing to do with this issue.  You can follow details there
