I am receiving an error: "An exception has been encountered. This may be caused by an extension.  You can get more information by examining the file 'C:\Users\Bobby\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AppEnv\12.0\ActivityLog.xml'."

This did not begin occuring until I signed up to the paid version from the trial. I have also received an "Illegal Characters" error, so I opened a new project on the desktop but I am still having similar problems.

I opened the file suggested and see this error occuring:Activity Monitor Log

System.ArgumentException: Illegal characters in path. at System.IO.Path.CheckInvalidPathChars(String path, Boolean checkAdditional) at System.IO.Path.GetFileName(String path) at WelkinSuite.TestsService.Implementation.Services.FindLocalTestsService.<>c__DisplayClass1.<GetSalesforceItem>b__0(IHierarchyNode i) at System.Linq.Enumerable.SingleOrDefault[TSource](IEnumerable`1 source, Func`2 predicate) at WelkinSuite.TestsService.Implementation.Services.FindLocalTestsService.GetSalesforceItem(String className) at WelkinSuite.TestsService.Implementation.Services.FindLocalTestsService.FindTestClass(String fileName) at WelkinSuite.TestsService.Implementation.Services.FindLocalTestsService.GetTestMethods(String fileName) at WelkinSuite.TestsService.Implementation.Services.TestsResultsDataService.GetTestsResultsDataForFile(String filePath) at WelkinSuite.EditorExtensions.Implementation.TestsResultsMarginGlyph.TestsResultsTagger.UpdateTags() at WelkinSuite.EditorExtensions.Implementation.TestsResultsMarginGlyph.TestsResultsTagger..ctor(ITextBuffer textBuffer, ITextView textView, String filePath, ITestsResultsDataService testsResultsDataService) at WelkinSuite.EditorExtensions.Implementation.TestsResultsMarginGlyph.TestsResultsTaggerProvider.CreateTagger[T](ITextView textView, ITextBuffer buffer) at Microsoft.VisualStudio.Text.Tagging.Implementation.TagAggregator`1.GatherTaggers(ITextBuffer textBuffer)

Any advice as to how I should try to resovle this error is much appreciated.

    Thank You,

    Bobby

        Hi Bobby,

Thank you for contacting us with this issue.

Both errors which you have received have the same reason - there are some specific symbols in the name of your files, for example, '<', '>', '|'. '"', etc. Especially this can be related to Layout or Static Resource files. I kindly ask you to check this.

These files are already present in your TWS project but they were saved incorrectly. Also, the error during pulling can be caused by such files which are absent in your project but are present on your Salesforce Organization and they are going to be added to the project at the end of the process.

Our developers are looking for the way how we can solve this issue.

        Regards,

        Kate

Thanks for the update. I will continue to troubleshoot as well. I have tried updating to the latest version of Welkin Suite, but now the application is crashing. Attached is another screen shot. This only happens after I open a project. This does not appear to be happening with developer orgs but rather Sandbox orgs.

I looked through all of the files and found a profile saved with a '%' symbol, so I created a new solution and did not pull any profiles or permissionsets, and I appear to be working now. I have only ran a few test classes but this is much more than I was able to do before.

            Thanks for the help!

              Hi Bobby,

Thank you for your response with the update.

You can rename the file which contains the '%' symbol on your Org if this is acceptable for you, or you can work with the project without this file currently.

We will work on this issue and will fix it in one of the nearest version of The Welkin Suite IDE.

If you would have any other questions, please contact us. We will be happy to assist.

              Kate
