Hi Eric,
In case of a 8 hours working day debug logs polling won't consume more than 2880 API calls - there's no big sense in shutting down the IDE while switching to another tasks or going to meetings.
Taking into accounts all other API calls that are made by the IDE during the very intensive development day (with unit tests in progress 100% of time + hundreds builds and pulls) - it won't be more than 5000-6000 calls. The situation that you've mentioned about 11000 calls in 2 hours is not possible in any normal circumstances in the IDE, however the figure of 3616 API calls for another whole day is absolutely normal and considered normal in general.
This why we kindly ask you to check the API Calls report to ensure that the 11k calls in 2 hours were done by 1 user by The Welkin Suite IDE - if this is the case we will do our best to investigate the issue and resolve it.
Regarding the configuration for debug logs polling interval - right now it's 10 seconds (not 2). We have an improvement in our backlog to allow to configure this value, however there's no defined timeline for when it will be implemented.
Looking forward hearing back from you.
Thank you,
Vladimir
