    Hi, everyone!

As always, thanks for the great job you put on the IDE.

Yesterday I left my computer on with Welkin Suite opened and when I started working today, I have reached the API call limit.

Now I am refreshing the System Overview page and the API calls increases every few seconds in 1.

I closed the IDE and the counter stops increasing.

Please tell me if there is more information that I can send to you to diagnose this.

    Thanks,

    Juan M.

      Hi Juan,

Thank you for your contacting us with this information.

The IDE send regular calls to Salesforce with the queries related to the test results and to Salesforce logs.

The test results are queried by TWS every 20 seconds and this applies for logs every 10 seconds.

I kindly ask you to check if the 'Download logs' button is enabled on the Logs panel in your case. You can disable this and download new logs when this is necessary for your working process.

If you don't need the result of your test runs, you can clear your test result history using the 'Clear' button on the Test Result panel. After this TWS will query for the new test runs from Salesforce every 5 minutes only.

Please let us know if these steps help to solve your issue related to the API call limit on your Organization.

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Thanks for the quick response!

I suggest you pull the logs and query results when activity is detected, because if you leave the IDE on and go to sleep as I did, you will get out of API calls.

        Best,

        Juan M.

            Hi Everyone,

Kate, I'm adding a +1 here for taking care of this. I was looking to try the IDE but this threw me off, when you are working on a deadline, hitting API limits can be a real pain and hurt development. As a general rule, I would vote for the design of the IDE to not do any action unless initiated by a User.

Or if it is going to do things behind the scenes at a regular interval, have a very clear and simple place where we can check that out and deactivate any of that.

            Cheers!,

            Nahuel.

              Hi Natual,

              Thank you for your post.

We will investigate the ways to change the current mechanism of connecting Salesforce by The Welkin Suite. Your suggestions are useful for us.

Right now, you can decrease the API calls from the IDE to Salesforce by disabling the 'Download Logs' option on the Logs panel (Main Menu -> View -> Logs Window). Please check if this option is enabled for you, and click on it to disable this. You can enable this for a time when you are working with Salesforce Logs.

In addition, you can decrease the API calls from TWS when you don't need the previous test results of the test runs on your Org. Please open the Test Result panel and click on the 'Clear' button. All the previous test results will be removed and the IDE won't query new test result from your Org till you run tests again.

              Regards,

              Kate
