TWS doesn't support the specific proxy connection. The IDE uses global system configuration for the proxy server.

This cannot be changed currently.

I was also having problems connecting via a proxy. We have proxy settings in IE but TWS seemed to intermittently work. I found adding the following line within the <system.net> tag in the TheWelkinSuite.exe.config file solved my issue:

<defaultProxy useDefaultCredentials="true" />

I haven't tried it, but you might also be able to specify proxy settings directly. There are more settings available for the defaultProxy tag that might help you.

Supposedly without this tag specified .NET defaults to IE settings, but forever reason this didn't always seem to be the case for me until I explicitly added this line.

I'm happy to inform that we have added the mentioned setting for the proxy configuration to the IDE by default, and now there is no needs to add the line manually.
