    Hi,

I try to start a Salesforce DX project within welkin suite but, it appears TWS doesn't detect the salesforce cli. Th organisation manager desperately says SFDC CLI is not installed. Please get it from the Salesforce website.

But the Salesforce cli is installed, opening a powershell command I can use sfdx properly.

Is there something I missed in configuration?

      Hi Yohann,

Thank you for contacting us on this.

I kindly ask you open your command line and execute the next command: sfdx

Please send us a screen of the result that you will get.

One of the possible reasons for the issue could be that TWS cannot find the Salesforce CLI location to launch it.

You can re-install the IDE with the built-in CLI settings and please check if you would be able to create a Salesforce DX project after this.

      Looking forward to your response.

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Hi Kate,

I attached the command line screen below. Could it be a missing declaration somewhere in the environment variable so that TWS can't reach sfdx?

          Kate,

I uninstalled everything TWS, existing sfdx and node.js, then reinstall TWS including sfdx and node, and it worked.

            Hi Yohann,

Thank you for your response and for the update.

I'm happy to hear that the re-installation helped and now you can start working on your SFDX project directly from The Welkin Suite IDE.

You can find all the information about Salesforce DX features in TWS here.

We will take into account the issue that you were faced with and we will look for a reason for this.

If you would have any additional questions - please let me know. I'll be happy to assist.

            Regards,
            Kate

I bump in the same problem.

We are a over year later now. Is there a way to fix this without uninstalling en reinstalling tws already?

                Hi Frank.

                Thank you for your post.

This problem related to installing the 'sfdx' cli and setting of this interface.

For now, we have only one workaround to solve this problem:

                1. Please uninstall the existing SFDX.
                2. Please uninstall The Welkin Suite IDE.
                3. And re-install TWS & check the additionally install "sfdx cli" in The Welkin Suite installer.

                It should help.

If you would have any additional questions, please let me know - I will be happy to help.

                Regards,

                      Hi Ihor,

                      Thanks for the quick reply!

I think,  I know where is the problem, I'll check it later, and give you later a feedback.

Another quetion: I find the editor comparing it of other feauters in TWS very poor, it's missing alot of basic things, for example auto completion of code, like "() or {}" in an if statement or in for-loop.

The qeustion is, is there a plugin or something like that to solve this issue?

                      Many Thanks!

                        Hello moh.hamada.

                        Thank you for your question.

The Welkin Suite IDE supports braces completion. You could learn more about these features here. And you don't need to install one more plugin for it.

If you have any further questions or if this issue is reproduced, please let me know - I will be happy to help.

                          Hi,

I was wondering if this is still an issue. I have the latest version of welkin suite installed and I have the latest version of the salesforce cli installed. I can create DX projects in Visual Studio but not welkin suite. I can see the salesforce cli in the command line when I run it inside of welkin suite. Is there another way to get it to work besides uninstalling and reinstalling everything? I do not have admin rights on my computer and it took a while to get the Salesforce CLI to work with visual studio so I do not really feel like going through that entire process again.

                          Thanks,

                          Scotty

                            Hello Scotty.

                            Thank you for your message.

There appear to be two separate issues here:

                            1. SFDX must be in your PATH environment variable. That is the full path of the subdirectory where the sfdx executable lives. You'll likely need to relaunch your terminal and/or The Welkin Suite to get them to observe any changes you've made to your Windows PATH.
                            2. You need to quote any file and directory path names that contain spaces when you're manually invoking SFDX (or any other command-line tools) in the shell. Note that some tools don't handle spaces well anyway - you may head off issues with other software if you try to avoid spaces in your paths.

Also, you could review the next topic at the Salesforce StackExchange.

I hope it should help you.

                            Best Regards,

                            Ihor
