This thing happens to me pretty often but not all the time. I have no idea what is the pattern. I change something in page and build it. It come back successful but TWS reports that file has been changed outside of the editor and asks me to update it. When I say yes, update it, it changes the file with adding spaces on some places (see attachment).

Sometimes its completely harmlos like in the attached case but it happens sometimes that it breaks the page. For example, if it adds a space in the string for javascript method call.

      Hi Tomic,

      Thank you for this post.

All the changes in the formatting of any file after the Built process are returned from the server. This is the Salesforce rules for the formatting.

This is done in order to maintain the same hash of a file inside TWS and on the server.

The IDE doesn't add these spaces, but it accepts the suggested changes.

Anyway, we will investigate the issue when the added spaces break the page.

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Hi Kate,

Thank you for your response. It makes sense that changes come from SF Server. However, it never happened to me in Eclipse. There are some really strange places where I am getting extra spaces. For example: obj["fieldName"] become obj["fieldName "]

          Hi again Tomic,

Thank you for the additional example.

We will include both your cases to the investigation process related to these additional spaces after the Build process.

I'll keep you updated about any results we will get.

          Regards,

          Kate
