We keep our eye on this issue and it is present in our development plans. Unfortunately, right now, I cannot tell you know when exactly we will work on this.

Well, it's been quite some time now. Almost 2 years. Can we ever have this feature? My version still downloads empty .translation files

We are still looking for a solution to this problem. Because right now, the API returns just this content, so for now we don't know another way how to gain the full body of the translation. Moreover, the other IDEs don't work with this metadata at all.

I will update if we have any updates on this.

Some of our developers are using Illuminated Cloud, and were able to retrieve these metadata without any problem, also I've tested the API manually, and were able to recieve every translation just fine. I still thing the problem is with TWS invoking the metadata api wrong.
