Regular Expressions matching allows you to find and/or replace more complex patterns in your code. Regular Expressions manual is not included.

Once you select any text in your code, all of its occurrences within the document will automatically be highlighted and marked on the scrollbar. This way, you can easily make the changes to the necessary files, or analyze the results.

Regular Expressions is a great powerful and useful tool when working with text or code. Heavy usage of Regular Expressions in your day-to-day tasks may help you improve productivity in lots of different situations – when you need to find similar but not exactly identical parts of the logs, find boilerplate code lines which are very similar but different in details, even transform the debug output of a list of fields to a SOQL query or create an Apex array from it in one action.

The Welkin Suite supports Regular Expressions in both Search and Replace, in the editor or in the whole project, thus when you need its power and you know how to use it – you can do it as quickly as searching and replacing the plain text.

Navigation within a project is even simpler with the ability to display only opened files in Solution Explorer.

Sometimes it is hard to find a needed file in the project structure, especially if there are hundreds of files in it. Good folders structure, logical and functional grouping, single files naming approach – all this approaches would greatly improve your ability to find any file in the project, but even this can be improved much more.

The Solution Explorer panel in The Welkin Suite always provides you with a visible quick filter for filenames – just enter a part of the file name and project structure will be filtered to show only those files or folders that matches your input and as the folders structure is always preserved in Solution Explorer you’ll also have the benefits of a well organized project.

When you’re working with multiple code files simultaneously it’s usually handy to see where your currently opened document and all opened documents are located in the project structure – this will help you understand what exactly you’re editing at the moment and will allow you to switch faster between needed tabs.

In The Welkin Suite you can switch Solution Explorer between two modes – display all files or display only opened files. When you enable “Only Opened” mode – you will see in the project structure only those files which are already opened in the editor preserving the folder’s structure. In conjunction with an ability to track and highlight opened documents in Solution Explorer, these features will make your life a bit easier when editing multiple documents in big projects.
