    Hi,

We are currently testing out the trial version for SFDX projects with differentt devices -desktop and laptop, the issue is it was taking so long to create or load SFDX projects, like at least 5 minutes or so. Btw, this is on Windows 10 for creating or loading a SFDX project on an existing folder with unmanaged package code from repo inside it

We are planning to subscribe , but this is for sure a turn off.

I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but is there any way to solve this ?

    Thanks,

    Dante

      Hi Dante,

Thank you for contacting us on this.

May I please clarify how many files do you have in your SFDX project?

Also, I kindly ask you to tell me if you get the same time for a project creation when using Salesforce DX CLI?

      Looking forward to your response.

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Hi Kate,

I was creating a new SFDX project via TWS in our existing SFDX project repository folder with 3,732 Files, 476 Folders, so TWS will automatically create a solution including this SFDX project(TWS SFDX project creation process kind of overwrites some config files from exsting SFDX proejct repo folder)

The SFDX protect/solution creation process takes about 3-5mins via TWS, and everything works fine after creation but every time when close the solution and then re-open it, it takes 3-5mins as well.

Using Salesforce DX CLI does not have the issue since it just simply overwrites some existing files in our repo folder as below, I think key issue is with loading TWS solution with larger project like the managed package we use

Please kindly let me know if there is anything we can do to improve the loading speed

        -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

        C:\Users\Dante\Documents\The Welkin Suite\DX Projects>sfdx force:project:create -n TestDX
        target dir = C:\Users\Dante\Documents\The Welkin Suite\DX Projects
        conflict TestDX\sfdx-project.json
        force TestDX\sfdx-project.json
        conflict TestDX\README.md
        force TestDX\README.md
        conflict TestDX\.forceignore
        force TestDX\.forceignore
        create TestDX\config\project-scratch-def.json

          Hi Dante,

Thank you for your response and clarifying the details.

Also, thank you for bringing this to our attention. A reason for a long loading can be related to a number of files/folders and to a large project.

We are going to improve this, and our developers already have some ideas what we can do.

Right now, I cannot tell you when exactly we will work on this since, however, we will try to include these improvements to one of the nearest version of the IDE.

If you would have any other questions or suggestions, please let us know. We will be happy to hear them.

          Regards,

          Kate
