We have a git repository that holds a DX project. Some of our developers prefer to use a text editor and some want to utilise an IDE, so we are looking to use TWS.

I cannot seem to find a way to use this existing project repo and generate the required .dxproj, .sfsln and .userprefs files to have TWS recognise it as a TWS project

Can someone shine some light in this?

    Thanks,

    David

      Hi David,

Thank you for contacting us on this.

Please create a new TWS Salesforce DX project and after this, please copy a created .dxproj file to your local repository and paste near the 'src' folder related to your existing DX project.

Then please open this project file.

      I hope this would help.

If you would have any additional questions, please let me know and I'll be happy to answer them.

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Hi Kate,

Thanks for this information. I tried the above solution and adding a dxproj from another DX Project has worked, I have added this file into our repository.

However, a few of our team members are using Windows machines and their TWS application crashes whenever they try to open the dxproj file. I should note that this dxproj file was generated on a MacOS device. We have tried on two windows machines and have had the same result; they cannot open the dxproj file without TWS crashing. Can you please advise on how we can resolve this issue? We need an operating system agnostic solution as we have some users on MacOS and some on Windows.

        Thanks,

        David

          Hi David,

Thank you for your response and for bringing this additional issue to our attention!

We have started to investigate a reason for this and our developers are looking for a solution.

I kindly ask you to reproduce the issue one more time and send us a bug report with the attached log files directly from the IDE - you can find this functionality in the menu Help -> Report a Bug, please put your email and enable the 'Attach Log File' checkbox. This way we would receive your TWS logs which could help us in our investigation.

          Thank you,

          Kate

            Hi,

Any progress or resolution regarding this? Still facing up with the same issue after an attempt to open the solution project.

            Thanks,

              Hi Ozan,

Thank you for your post and please sorry for the delay in our response.

May I please clarify with you that you are faced with the issue when the IDE crashes when you open DX project ( which was created in TWS for Windows) in your TWS Blaze?

Since we cannot seem to find a way to replicate this issue on our side, I kindly ask you to reproduce the issue and please send us a bug report with attached log files. You can find this functionality in the menu Help -> Report a Bug, please specify your email and enable the 'attach Log File' checkbox. These attached log files can help us in our investigation related to the issue.

Looking forward to your response and to a bug report from you.

              Thank you,

              Kate
