Randomly F5 will stop functioning as a deploy hotkey. My deploy menu also switches to only containing "Deploy Solution ctrl + shift + b" . Am i doing something to trigger this or is it a bug?

    EDIT: Additonal Info

The only way to get the deploy options back is to completely close TWS and reopen. When I go to close TWS, there appears to be a message window "behind" my solution but it disappears before I can read it.

      Hi Falco,

Thank you for contacting us on this question.

I kindly ask you to check you the following:

when the issue is reproduced, please check what file/folder is active or highlighted in the Solution Explorer; this can happen when an active item is a solution and this is why there is no reference to a project to build it and, at the same time, the command to build a solution works.

Regarding the message which you cannot see fully, I can guess that this is confirmation if save your changes in a project when closing the IDE. However, so that we could make sure that this is not an error, please send us a Bug Report with attached log files directly from TWS - please find this functionality in the menu Help -> Report a Bug, please specify your email and enable the 'Attach Log File' checkbox. This way we would receive your TWS log files and hope they would provide us with additional info on this.

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Hey Kate

I was able to reproduce the issue and verify that it was happening when I had a log file selected in the solution explorer. When i went into the solution explorer and selected a different option from within the project, my build options returned. It could help if there was an indicator that a file outside of the project was selected (besides going into the solution explorer). Thank you for the help!

          Hi Falco,

Thank you for your update and for the details.

Yes, a log file has no references to a project and this is why the Project menu has no dependencies to a project item and the functions for a project are not available.

I'm happy to hear that I could help you.

If you have any other questions, please let us know and we'll be happy to provide you with all the necessary information.
