Is anyone else seeing the error "INVALID_CROSS_REFERENCE_KEY: invalid cross reference id" every time they deploy? I'm having to copy&paste my code to an editor to ensure I don't lose anything and then do a FORCE pull before it lets me do another deploy. It seems to actually push the code (as resolve shows no differences).

Another SF development tool is reporting the same thing:

Yes, we are getting this error consistently now.   I have to re-pull the file from the org to clear it and then do it again the next time I deploy.  This is really really slowing down our development process.

Welkin??? Do you look at this thread?

I just created a brand new project and tried OAuth authentication but I still get this error when pushing changes. Welkin Suite is UNUSABLE for me.

Are we the only three people seeing this?????

Is there any update on this issue?

                  Hi Everyone,

As a temporary workaround you can use the following approach:

When you deploy only Apex/Visualforce/Aura/LWC/Static Resources - The Welkin Suite will use the Tooling API which is affected by the issue. However, if you would include any other metadata type in the deployment, TWS will use the Metadata API and it should work properly. For example, you can update any page layout file and add just an empty line somewhere in the middle of the file - TWS will include it and everything should work fine.

Please let me know if this temporary workaround works for you.

                  Thank you,

                  Vladimir

I do not have any page layouts in Welkin ... but making a small change to a field description on a Custom Object does NOT seem to work for me.

                        Hi Guys,
We've just released the update for this issue - it changes the IDE behavior to use the Metadata API for all deployments. Could you please update to R40 and let me know if this works for you?
                        Thank you,

After upgrading I cannot deploy any changes.   I am always getting

                                        Deploying changed items...
String reference not set to an instance of a String.

I get this same error no matter what file I open and no matter what changes I make.

OK, so I got around my String reference errors by creating a whole new project which allowed me to at least deploy my changes   But now I will randomly get

Deploy is finished with errors [08:17:27.111].

                                          Time Elapsed 00:02:23.363

                                          ========== Deploy: Project: my_project failed ==========

But the error list is empty...

This is just as bad as the Cross Reference error!  Help!

If I "force deploy" a bunch of times it will eventually go through...but it really slows down the development process. :)
