I've noticed that code errors in apex don't show reliable line numbers any more.. Usually it says line 1 or 2, regardless of where the actual error is. If I copy/paste that source to the Developer Console, that does show the correct line numbers.

This isn't a productive way to do things. Is there a way to get the raw log or some other way to find out where errors are?

Have a look at the "Output" pane (Edit > Output or Ctrl+alt+O) - that's our workaround - however sometimes that message also provides no helpful line no.

          Hi Chris.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

This error that you got in the error panel is what salesforce returns to the IDE when you update your apex class.

We will work on the improvement of displaying these errors.

Thanks and have a nice day!

            Hi Ihor,

I'm getting the same issue since upgrading to TWS Blaze R21.  This used to work in TWS.  In fact, I've seen it work, then stop working a couple of times now between TWS releases.  Unfortunately, I didn't track the release versions where it worked / didn't work otherwise that probably would have helped you pinpoint the issue. It doesn't appear to be a SFDC issue since line numbers are shown using the Developer Console.

              Hello Mike.

              Thank you for your response.

This error that you got in the error panel is what salesforce returns to the IDE when you update your Lightning component.
I kindly ask you to check what you can see in the Output panel when deploying your changes - there you will find a full error.

              Hope this would help.

              Regards,

              Ihor

This same behavior started happening to me with the upgrade to R40 Version.34.3.4

any help in resolving would be greatly appreciated, as it somewhat makes the IDE very difficult for dev

I'm having the same exact issue, and so is everyone in my team using TWS for Windows.
Hope this gets solved sooner than later.

                         Hi Vladimir,

thanks.  Any update on a fix for this?  We were planning to purchase a few more seats, but I am having trouble recommending welkin until this is resovled.

Thanks Vladimir.  I downloaded and forced a compile error.  I saw TWS direct to line number appropriately.  Really appreciate the quick turn around!

Confirming that the fix is working for me as well.  THANK YOU!
The install process did not automatically launch when I restarted TWS.  Using HELP | CHECK FOR UPDATES,  the application was reinstalled instead of patching it (which removed my pinned icon on the Windows taskbar).  Not a biggie, but wanted to mention it.
The Version History is not up to date on the website also to reflect this new version.  The newest message refers to the patch from 2021-Feb-19
