    Hi,

I'm testing Welkin Suite, requested by my company (the idea is to purchase), but me and a colleague are having the issue below. Can you please help on this?

This happens when building the project or creating a new one.

Is this beacuse it is still a free version?

Start building files on the server [13:42:26.628].

Checking if the changed files have pending server changes [13:42:26.628].
    Pending conflicts were not found.
The Welkin Suite has encountered following exception(s) during the build:; nested exception is:
common.exception.ApiException: An unexpected error occurred. Please include this ErrorId if you contact support: 1800402426-43732 (-1373626881); nested exception is:
common.exception.ApiException: An unexpected error occurred. Please include this ErrorId if you contact support: 1800402426-43732 (-1373626881)

    Thank you,

    Hugo Costa

      Hi Hugo,

Thank you for contacting us on this.

The error with the exception that you got in the Build Output is what Salesforce returns to the IDE during building your changes, and this is why the build process is failed.

You can contact Salesforce support to clarify what does mean this error code since these codes are different for all the cases. Also, you can share this information with us and we will try to find a solution or handle this case in TWS.

In addition, we will investigate which cases can cause this errors, however, since the IDE gets this error from Salesforce we cannot do anything to ignore it.

Also, can you please tell if the same error you get when creating a project or there is another error?

As for a free version of The Welkin Suite IDE, it includes all the available features and there are no limitations or differences in functionality regarding a license that you use.

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Hi Kate,

We are not just testing Welkin Suite, as you may understand. Let me tell you that it is working fine using Eclipse and Sublime.

Could it be the amount of information retrieve from Salesforce?

        Thanks,

        Best regards

          Hi Hugo,

          Thank you for your response.

According to an information from the developer Salesforce community, a reason for the exception can be related to the processes that are running on an organization, what app is doing, what is a state of API usage at the moment of executing an operation, some internal processes on Salesforce servers, etc.

The IDE has no information about an exact reason for the error since we get this from Salesforce.

May I please clarify with you if the issue is reproduced for all your TWS projects?

          Thank you,

          Kate

            Hi Kate,

This happens on two phases: Craeting New Project and Delpoying Metadata.

I could justify the error with your answer, if the other IDEs didn't work also. Even Visual Studio Code works fine. I did the test when the error occurs on TWS and it did not on VSC.

For now even if I click F5 it deploys All components changes not only the one selected as expected. My idea was the amount of metadata.

Let me tell you, that unfortunately, we are thinking not to purchase TWS for now, because of this issue reported.

            Best regards,

              Hi Hugo,

              Thank you for your response.

May I please clarify with you some additional details?

              Here are my questions:

                   1) What metadata types do you download to your TWS project when the error appears?

                   2) Which exactly files (metadata types) are you going to build when the error appears?

                   3) How many files are included in the build process when the issue occurs?

Also, I kindly ask you to send us a bug report directly from the IDE - you can find this functionality in the menu Help -> Report a Bug, please put your email and enable the 'Attach Log File' checkbox. This way we will receive your TWS logs that could provide us with an additional information about this case.

We will be happy to find a solution for this issue so that you could try all other abilities of The Wekin Suite before making your decision.

As a side note, right now, you can use the Deploy to organization functionality to check if there is an ability update your files in the org directly from TWS. This operation uses another approach and this also will provide us with additional details.

I'd greatly appreciate if you could check this and share a result with us.

              Thank you,

              Kate

                Hi Hugo,

One more detail from my side:

currently, when you build or deploy your changes from TWS, the IDE always updates all the changed files by default and right now there is no ability to update one of the changed files.

We are going to add an ability to build/deploy one selected file in one of the nearest versions of the IDE.

                Regards,

                Kate

                  Hi kate,

Yes the selected deploy/build would be very nice. Regarding your questions:

                       1) What metadata types do you download to your TWS project when the error appears?

[HC] This happen when creating new Salesforce Project and trying to deploy Aura Component changes

                       2) Which exactly files (metadata types) are you going to build when the error appears?

                                    [HC] AuraDefinitionBundle cmp and js

                       3) How many files are included in the build process when the issue occurs?

[HC] If new Project 47.5 MB of metadata information, else just component changed.

I remember meantime that we are creating Change sets for deploy, and I know that Salesforce blocks access. Could be this the real issue?

I will send the Report Bug as requested next time it appens.

                  Thanks

                  Hugo Costa

                    Hi Hugo,

Thank you for your detailed response.

Actually, a case when Salesforce blocks an access to some files can, in fact, be a reason for the error when updating changes from the IDE. You can contact Salesforce support to clarify if the ErrorId that you get in the error is related to this reason.

When the issue will be reproduced the next time, I kindly ask you to check if you would be able to update the same files on your organization using the 'Deploy to organization' functionality that I've mentioned in my previous post.

And, of course, looking forward to a bug report from you.

                    Regards,

                    Kate
