Hello,
When I open a file, on the left a window with a list of properties and methods shows up. I always remove that window since I don't use it and rather want to use the space for my code. Is there a way to remove this permanently?

Thank you for your question.
You can disable appearing Code Map for Apex by default the next way: Main Menu -> Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> Code Assistance, in the 'Other Settings' section you will find the 'Show Code Map' option, please disable it.
If you would need this list, you can enable it the same way.

I sometimes like this feature but, more often than not, I'm not using it.
As a minor suggestion, it would be nice if that checkbox changed to options for default on / default off / disabled.

I've added this improvement request to our Backlog. Currently, I'm not sure when exactly this will be implemented, but we really like your idea.
