I mostly work with classes. It happened once in a while in previous releases and I could fix it by closing and restarting WS. But with the latest release I have it all the time.

Sorry, but the problem isn't solved. I still have a lot of troubles with slow typing. But I have noticed that the slow typing is the worst in comment lines. Hope this helps you searching further for the problem.

And another problem: Update 16 hasn't updated automaticully. I had to update the last couple of updates all by myself.

Hi Frank,                

First of all I want to tell you that we already added the additional logging to the previous version 0.22.15 (I mentioned this in another one topic with you here, on our Forum). As a result of this, currently we can gather some information about why the autoupdate doesn’t work properly when updating TWS.

Although the Autoupdate service changes the TWS version, it does this only if the program is closed. It verifies the presence of a new version every 10 minutes and after it is downloaded, it updates The Welkin Suite.

It's sad to hear that we haven't resolved your issues with the slow typing, but please rest assure that we are going to investigate this issue further.

Could I ask you please to do the following actions to get additional information?

1. Please change the ‘Reparsing time delay’. You can find this in the follow way: Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> Code Assistance. Please increase this setting to it’s maximum value - 3000 ms and try to continue working with the classes.
2. Are there any other opened tabs in the Editor? If there are, how do you usually use them? Could you please close all the tabs and restart TWS? One of the probable reasons of slow typing can be the background parsing in parallel tabs.

We would appreciate any additional details about this issue after these actions.

Thanks for your effort in here. I can't imaging I'm the only one having this problem, right? I have also investigated some things and I noticed that slow typing mostly occured in real large files (over 5.000 lines of code). In smaller files with about 1.500 lines of code everything is going fine. I don't have many tabs open (mostly one or two), but I have changed the Reparsing time delay value to 3000 and it seems that that improves the typing speed. I'll keep you posted about my further experiences.

The investigation process for this case is still in progress.

We found out that a possible reason for your issue may be the syntax highlighting redraw in big files (as you mentioned you have over 5.000 lines of code in the file).

This issue is rather rare. That is why, and I am terribly sorry, the exact timeframe for fixing this is not available at the moment.
