thewelkinsuite.exe (version 29.7.4) was detected as a virus and quarantined by our corporate antivirus Trend Micro OfficeScan with 'Unauthorized File Encryption' thread when I just created a brand new project and pulled a few Apex classes.

I'm contacting my IT support to try to get it identified as a false alarm, but you have to reconsider some of the background functionality in TWS to avoid this misdetection by Trend Micro or any other antivirus.

These are for the same window, and the link is to the search for 'unauthorized file encryption' on the Trend Micro's 'threat encyclopedia' that doesn't provide any reliable information or references.

I believe the problem is related to Salesforce credentials encryption:

        • Please be aware that the Salesforce credentials are stored in the project file in an encrypted way, so once you share the Project with other developers (using any Source Control solutions or just passing folders with files to them) they will be able to connect to this Org with the credentials you’ve entered, but they won’t know the password and security token.

          Hi Oleksiy,

We greatly appreciate your help in the investigation process.

          Thank you for these details.

We will work on this issue.

Currently, you can use the OAuth Authentication to avoid this. In this case, your credentials won't store in a project file.

More detailed about this authentication type you can read in the Release Note blog post.

          Regards,

          Kate
