Hi Tomic,
Thank you for sharing your suggestion.
We will consider adding this option to have an ability to open a log file in any another application directly from the Debug Logs panel.
However, already now you can set up opening a log file in the necessary application from the Solution Explorer. Please follow these steps to do this:
- First of all, when you open a log file in the IDE, this file appears in the Solution Explorer in the Miscellaneous Files section;
- please open the context menu for a log file in the Solution Explorer and select the 'Open With...' command;
- in the appeared window, please click 'Add...' and select a path to a *.exe file of the necessary application in the Program field;
for example, for using Nothepad++ please select the 'notepad++.exe' file and click Open, and then click Ok;
- the selected application will appear in the list of editors.
After this, you can easily get access to open the necessary log file in the needed editor using the 'Open With...' command from the context menu of this file in the Solution Explorer.
Hope this would help.
If you have any additional questions on this or any other, please let us know and we will be happy to assist.
Regards,
Kate
