It would be really nice if TWS provided an easy way to install all of the prerequisite packages (as defined in the sfdx-project.json file) after creating a new scratch org. There is an sfdx plugin that provides this functionality available at https://github.com/texei/texei-sfdx-plugin as an example (specifically the 'sfdx texei:package:dependencies:install' command).
Would something similar be possible in TWS?

Unfortunately, we don't have this functionality in our IDE. But anyway, We have started to investigate this case which you have described, and I'll back to your the nearest future with our results on this or, probably, with some additional questions.
