I believe that functionality of selected identifier highlighting on double click (similar to Force.com developer console web editor for an example) in Apex, JS and VF pages (identifier_highlight.PNG) would vastly improve code readability and IDE usability.

Hi Frano,
Thank you for contacting us with this suggestion.
This functionality is already present in Apex files, and we are going to implement it for JS and Visualforce pages in future versions of The Welkin Suite IDE.
If you would have any other questions or suggestions, please contact us. We will be happy to assist.
Regards,
Kate

Hi Kate,
Thank you for your quick feedback! I really didn't notice that this functionality is already present in the WS Apex files editor - is there configuration/settings option that must be properly configured in order to get it working?
Thanks,
Best regards,
Frano

Hi Frano,
In The Welkin Suite instant highlighting in the Apex code works the following way:
- If your caret position is within a word - the IDE will highlight all occurances of this word in the current file
- If you select any text in the editor - the IDE will highlight all occurances of the selected text in the current file
There are no specific settings required to enable this feature.
You can find the screenshot how this looks like attached to this post.
Also, all the highlighted entries are also highlighted on the code map scrollbar on the right side of the editor - with small lines of the same color.
In case you'd like to change the color of highlighting you can do this from the Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Fonts and Colors and there find the "Apex - Highlight Text".
Hope this helps, however if this functionality is still not working for you - please send the Bug Report from the IDE using the Help -> Report a Bug option, so we can analyze your log files.
Thank you,
Vladimir

Hi Vladimir,
Thank you for your quick feedback! It seems that this functionality is really working fine in my case - it seems that it happened to be a configuration issue on the WS "bright" color scheme - the "Apex - Highlight Text" option was set to automatic/default colors so no highlighted text could be seen.
When I adjusted those colors settings it was obvious that this functionality is working fine.
Best regards,
Frano

Hi Frano,
Thank you for getting back with the result :)
We'll check the default color settings for the Light theme and will change it a bit!
Thank you,

Hi,
I also have this issue, but I'm using a Mac. I cannot see fonts and colors, like Frano said.
Best regards,
Miguel

Hi Miguel,
Thank you for your post.
As for the Font and Colors menu in TWS for Mac, please find the built-in settings for this the following way:
please open The Welkin Suite Blaze menu -> Preferences -> Text editor -> Color Scheme.
Here you can select a preferable color scheme for an editor.
Also, here you can find the information on how to customize color schemes and get you own one.
Regarding the highlighting functionality for a selected identifier by double-click, this feature is absent in TWS Blaze.
In the Windows version of the IDE, it was implemented by default since this functionality was provided by Microsoft Visual Studio Isolated Shell that the IDE is based on. However, in TWS for Mac we are going to implement it additional.
I'll keep you updated when it will be available for you in the Mac version of the IDE.

Kate

Hi Kate,
thank you for the quick reply! :) Ok, I'll wait until you develop that functionality.
FYI In The Welkin Suite Blaze menu -> Preferences -> Text editor -> X (there isn't any Color Scheme, only Color Theme and I can't customize it). Check for attachment.
Best regards,

Hi Miguel,
Thank you for your post.
Please sorry for my mistake - I was talking about the Color Theme menu.
You can customize these themes using the https://studiostyl.es/ tool and steps which are described in this separate topic.
Hope this would help.
Regards,
Kate
