Thank you for sharing this with us.

You're right - both this options are pretty cool and save time coding. We have built a good foundation for such features (as well as for auto-formatting the code on the block end, refactoring options, etc.) in the recent Code Assistance updates, however we are right now focused on improving our Javascript and Lightning code completion. As we are pretty close to completion for js-related plans, we will work on SOQL afterwards and later will switch to such options as you've mentioned.

So in short - completely agree with you and we have this features in our backlog, but no timeline for now on when we'll release them.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for your question.

This is present in our backlog for sure and we will work on this. 

Right now, we proceed on code assistance for SOQl and will release these changes in one of the next versions of the IDE.

After this, we'll consider what exactly functionality would take more priority for the implementation since users' requests are really different and we take all of them into account.

So I'll let you know when we will start working on these required code assistance features or about any updates related to this topic.

I'd also like to vote for this please. Very useful. I was wondering whether this (https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=JoelSpadin.BraceCompleter) might do it, but haven't tried to install it yet.
