    Hey everybody,

After visiting the Cebit where you guys showed me your IDE I decided to give it a try (Awesome job at the Cebit btw :) ). I am a longtime apex developer and have always worked with Eclipse IDE. Eclipse has its downs but there are still some things I really like.

So I just have some questions about features that I currently miss.

    1) Work online. Right now in Welkin I save something and go to the project, click right and choose "Build project". That are way more steps than just saving it (there is even no shortcut for building a project). Can I change this setting so that a save in Welkin automatically leads to a save in Salesforce?

    2) When I start TWS I always have to open my projects. But I would like to have a list of projects available so that I can start working directly. It would also be nice to have the classes opened from my last session.

    3) Having an outline. In eclipse there was a small window with all methods and variables where I could jump very easily through longer classes. Is this also possible with TWS?

    4) Code completion on VF-Pages. Right now ... nothing in that direction is working for me with TWS. Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I think ... right now these are my biggest painpoints. I really like working with TWS and I would like to replace the good old eclipse but these 4 things are more or less must-haves. Nevertheless I think you did a great job in building your IDE.

Thanks for reading all of my stuff and taking the time for an answer.

    Cheers,

    Markus

      Hi Markus,

Thank you for this post and for your feedback about The Welkin Suite.

We are glad that you shared with us your thoughts.

Here are the answers to your questions:

      1) There is the shortcut for the Building process for your project - this is 'F5'. In addition, you can get acquainted with the list of all the shortcut in the next way: Main Menu -> Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Keyboard.

      2) You can find all your opened projects in the Main Menu -> File -> Recent Projects and Solutions. Also, you can select the default option for the launch of the IDE in the Main Menu -> Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Startup.

3-4) Currently both of these features are absent in TWS. Our team is going to implement them to the IDE soon.

If you have more questions, feel free to write us. We will be glad to answer them.

      Regards,

      Kate

        Hey Kate,

Thanks for you answer, you helped me a lot. It is the first time for me working with a Visual Studio product. And Tools --> Options has a lot of hidden features :)

For the point 3,4 I will just wait for new releases.

        Best regards,

        Markus
